FIRST Tech Challenge Field Soft Tiles (AndyMark)

AndyMark’s FIRST Tech Challenge Field Soft Tiles (am-2499) have a size variance. Some tiles are slightly smaller than tiles used during previous years. The size range is anywhere from 24 ¼” to 24 ⅜” from outside to outside of each tile. Stacked 6 wide, this ⅛” variance can be up to ¾” across an FTC field. AndyMark recommends that teams assemble their perimeter on top of an assembled 6x6 grid of tiles before cutting off any tabs. More information is available in this document.


Soft Tiles are 2' x 2' x 5/8" thick gray floor mats that are used on the FIRST Tech Challenge (am-0481a) playing field.  A full FTC field requires 36 tiles.

The interlocking edges of these tiles connect nicely for a quick setup and will stay firmly in place. The edges can be easily cut for a straight edge as required when used on an FTC playing field.  The tiles are double-sided with both a textured and a smooth side to suit any need. Disassembly is simple and we suggest these Soft Tile Bags for storage and transport. Each bag can carry up to 18 tiles.

These tiles are ideally suited for a variety of purposes and are perfect for exercise areas, playrooms, and workshops.  The soft, durable mats would also work well anywhere that needs a bit more cushion - including camping or as an anti-fatigue standing mat. These mats are made from a non-toxic EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) foam.

Tiles can be purchased in single quantities, packs of 36. Please note when purchasing quantities of less than 36 to interface with previously purchased tiles there may be some batch variance in the color, exact tooth shape and overall tile size resulting in small gaps or complete assemblies that are slightly smaller than the field perimeter.
